When it comes to interstate movers, Allegiance Van Lines is a trusted name in the moving industry. Residential Or Commercial Movers
Whether you are considering a move for your family or for your business we can deliver. As a full-service moving company we offer all services that interstate movers are legally allowed to cater for.
Consultation and Planning Tailored to Your Needs
As each move is a journey for your family and your belongings we understand the precious and emotional nature of the situation. For this reason we believe that the best means of achieving a welcome moving experience is built on a solid foundation of good communication.
One-On-One Move Planning
One of our consultants will meet with you as the client to ensure that all the details are ironed out. We’ll find out what is needed to customize a moving plan that caters to each client’s needs and expectations. We’ll focus on the following important factors:
- Timeline
- Budget
- Service bundle
- Interstate location idiosyncrasies
- Any special considerations
Performing a Visual Survey
After the planning is concluded we’ll conduct a visual survey. These meetings are a cost and time saving operation that allows our team an opportunity to have a “look around the place”. We use this time to assess some of the following information:
- Location of origin and destination
- Access for our vans to the properties
- Number and size of furniture items
- Assessment of egress and ingress for large furniture items
- Estimation of packing materials required
- Allocation of time
- Deciding what team and van size is required
You can also use this time of the visual survey to ask us any additional questions that you may have regarding the move.
Full-Service Wrapping and Packing
One of the greatest “chores” for any move is when it comes to the packing up and wrapping of your belongings. This must be one of the most stressful parts of the move and can take up a lot of time and energy.
Let Us Do it For You
A reputable interstate moving company will offer the service to pack and wrap all of your items including, cutlery and crockery, appliances, furniture, fragile items, even clothing.
DIY Option
If you would prefer to do the wrapping and packing yourselves then you can purchase all of the packing material that you require from us. We stock a comprehensive set of materials that we think are the best to pack your home for a move.
Protecting Your Property From Damage
A major concern for many customers is the potential damage that can occur when moving large and heavy furniture items. The concern is often that the items may be dragged along expensive floor coverings or bashed into walls and corners. Clients will also want to ensure their beloved furniture items are protected as well.
Ramps, Dolleys & Protective Coverings
In order to protect your valuables we make use of specialized tooling to reduce risk when moving heavy and cumbersome items. We use ramps to load and offload all items as well as dollies to get them out of the house and into the truck and vice versa. To protect the floors, we lay down protective mats that take the brunt of all the foot traffic and heavier items. For hygiene related items like mattresses, we cover those in a protective plastic dust sheet so that your bed and other personal items are safe from allergens and other dirt throughout the moving process.
Storage Units
Some clients want to keep some of their belongings in temporary storage and not move them to their new location. This can be especially helpful in the case of an interstate move where the new location is not as large as your previous place. We can assist you with a storage unit that you can pack items in at your leisure.
Ensuring Peace of Mind While Insuring Your Move
Whether you are moving across country or across state lines, you’ll need to ensure that your moving company is adhering to federal laws. A reputable interstate mover will belong to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The mover will also be in possession of a United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) number.
Released Value Protection
Released value protection is always the most cost-effective option for moving insurance and is offered at no extra cost. The reason for this “freebie” is that the protection of your items is minimal. The maximum payout for items is 60 cents per pound of each individual item that is damaged. So if a table that weighs 200 pounds is damaged, the maximum payout that you will get is $120.
Full Value Protection
Full value protection is essentially comprehensive insurance and so it costs more for the move. The insurance covers the replacement value for potentially lost or damaged items during the move. Items covered under full value protection will be covered at a minimum of $6.00 for the entire weight of the shipment. As with most insurance plans, items that are more valuable must be itemized, accounted for, and signed off to be covered at more than the standard $6.00.
Important Documentation – Know Where It Is
Take the time to keep all your important documentation in one place when moving across state lines. Allegiance Van Lines provides you with all the documents that you may be asked to provide as proof of your move if you are required by law enforcement to do so.
Your moving company should give you the following:
- Freight bill
- Itemized inventory list
- Bill of lading
